Super easy way to add a lot of shine and natural volume is to apply gloss on top of your favorite red lipstick. If you apply it over the entire lip, you will get a high gloss or you can apply it only to the center of the lips. Lip gloss will visually enlarge the lips but you will not have a strong high-gloss effect. Lip gloss works well in this combination whereas a lip gloss lip with a hint of color can affect the red lipstick that you wear underneath. If you want to make your matte lipstick more hydrating, more nutritious and more comfortable on the lips, check a few tricks and tips in my post on the mat hydrated lips.
You can upgrade your red lipstick, in combination with lip gloss, with eternal festive favorite - glitter. Finely milled glitter apply on the lip gloss for better adhesion. I recommend using lip gloss that has somewhat thicker and stickier texture.
You can always buy matte lipstick, but if you want to have velvet lipstick look, just pat your blush over your favorite red lipstick. You can add an extra dimension to the lips in this way, achieve velvet finish and make it last longer.
A good trick for visual enhancement of the lips and adding a little more dimension to them is to add lipstick with a different color to the center of the lips. For this look, choose orange or pink shade of lipstick, just make sure that your lipstick undertone corresponds to each other. In this way you can achieve the ombre effect, especially with the super popular matte liquid lipsticks. My favorite drugstore matte lipsticks can be found in this post.
Two favorite colors on the lips? It is achievable by applying one color to the upper lip and another one on the lower lip. Combinations of red and dark pink or pink shades looks great.
